RES INITIATIVESINITIATIVE DETAILS
Recovery Funds: The Connecticut DOL is currently engaged in several RES activities and plans to use Recovery funds to both continue current initiatives and carry out new ones. Current Initiatives: The Connecticut DOL currently engages in active collaboration with other offices and has increased its capacity to serve job seekers through innovative methods.

Future Initiatives: The Connecticut DOL will soon begin the Rapid Reemployment Initiative (RRI) as well as possible "Resume Days" through public libraries to increase Wagner-Peyser registrations.
Collaboration with Other Offices: The Connecticut DOL has used marketing methods to advertise the availability of Wagner-Peyser and Labor Market Information (LMI) services. Wagner-Peyser Registrations: By providing information sessions at public libraries across the State, the Connecticut DOL has increased Wagner Peyser registrations significantly.

LMI: Through the career express and marketing through public libraries, the Connecticut DOL has pointed job seekers to the LMI Division to help them find the job they are looking for.
Rapid Reemployment Initiative (RRI): Connecticut will soon be ready to begin this initiative with JobCentral NLX. RRI: This national initiative includes an employer outplacement exchange, career event database, automated job search agents, and other valuable tools to assist in the rapid reemployment of displaced employees. Together they connect downsizing employers with hiring employers, inform employers and job seekers about career events around the nation, and connect displaced employees to employers who are currently hiring. Increased Capacity to Serve: The Connecticut DOL has made it easier for job seekers to find employment services by creating easily accessible offices throughout the state. Career Express: This is a mobile one stop unit which for the last four years has gone out statewide to local communities to assist individuals with job services.

Library Collaboration: The Connecticut DOL staff currently commutes to statewide public libraries to provide employment services to clients. The Connecticut DOL also markets their services through the libraries so job seekers will be referred to ES centers by library staff.
Labor Exchange: Connecticut's New Job Bank New Job Bank: In an alliance with JobCentral NLX, the Connecticut Department of Labor has created a site which matches hiring employers with job seekers.
