Joe Black's Restaurant and Pub - Society Room

Join us at the Historic and Unique Society Room at Joe Black's. The Society Room is named after the Society for Savings which was organized in 1819 as the first mutual savings bank in Connecticut. The present structure now occupied by Joe Black's dates from 1893.

In 1926 the spectacular main banking floor was designed in a classical Renaissance Revival manner by the architects Denison and Hirons of New York City. The magnificent ceiling was embellished with gold leaf and ornamental plaster work by DiLorenzo and the murals were done by H.T. Schladtermundt.

We invite you to come and experience the elegance and opulence of a bygone era for a social celebration in the Society Room. Casual Dress.
