Labor Market Information encompasses a broad range of
data, statistics, research studies, and other products and
services that support workforce development activities.
At the heart of LMI, however, are the everyday successes
of states in meeting the needs of their customers. This
session will highlight various state LMI programs and
initiatives including training, marketing and collaborative
funding efforts. A summary of the national training survey
conducted by the LMI committee will also be provided.

A Report on WIA Implementation
The General Accounting Office will discuss the results of its recently released report, "Workforce Investment Act: Better Guidance Needed to Address Concerns over New Requirements." In this report, GAO highlighted state and local implementers' experiences, and actions needed to enhance WIA implementation. Following the overview, planned work on WIA-related matters will be discussed with the audience.

They are also asked to evaluate survey results, whether internally or externally produced. An expert on survey design will provide guidelines that everyone needs to know when considering whether to do a survey.
