Position Announcement: Unemployment Insurance Services Division Administrator - Public Service Executive 5

Direct and coordinate through three bureau chiefs the overall supervision and effective function of unemployment insurance (UI) services statewide. Has authority for all personnel actions (hiring, classification, promotions, discipline, etc) for 230 staff organized within three bureaus. Responsible for implementation and operation of current and newly legislated federal and state programs to provide unemployment insurance benefits to unemployed Iowans. Responsible for UI Division budget and expenditures which represent over $31 million annually. Responsible for collecting taxes from 72,000 employers quarterly and paying benefits to 165,000 unemployed Iowans annually. Formulate, develop, implement, and interpret administrative policy. Review and evaluate activities, reports, and records. Determine program goals, objectives and functional program responsibilities are being met. Coordinate with other division administrators on issues that cross division lines.

Salary Range: $82,763.20 - $117,728.00
